Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in the heart of ExmoorAshwick Manor Farm offers a family run bed and breakfast on a working farm set in the beautiful Barle valley only 3 miles from the scenic town of Dulverton in the Exmoor National Park. View wonderful scenery, Exmoor ponies and wild red deer from the house. A great place for exploring the many attractions that Somerset and Devon have to offer.Ashwick has a herd of beef suckler cows, sheep, pigs, chicken and horses. We aim to provide as much produce from the farm as possible when making your hearty breakfast which is served in the dining room.The accommodation at Ashwick comprises of an ensuite room which has a King size bed and the twin room has a private bathroom. Both rooms have a well equipped tea tray and digital television. Breakfast is taken in the dining room which also has a comfortable seating area for you to relax in. All rooms are centrally heated. Smoking is not permitted in the house. Dulverton is home to the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park and it has a visitor centre in the town with up to date information of what's on www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk. The town also provides a good range of shops, galleries, tea rooms for that lovely Somerset cream tea, pubs and restaurants. There are a wide range of activities available nearby:The Exmoor Pony Centre is on our doorstep. There are fabulous walks over the varied Exmoor terrain, the Two Moors Way and the Coleridge Way and many other well marked routes. Horse riding, fishing, shooting, golf, the Tarka trail and other cycle routes. We are also within a 10 minute drive of Wimbleball Lake, where the Half Iron Man competition takes place, sailing and water sports are also available visit www.swlaketrust.org.uk for more details.Nearby is Tarr Steps an ancient clapper bridge, the pretty villages of Winsford, Exford and Dunster with its historic castle and medieval high street and yarn market. There's also Porlock, Minehead and the West Somerset Railway where you can take a ride on a steam train. Lynton, Lynmouth and the nearby Doone valley the setting for R D Blackmore's famous novel Lorna Doone, there are also several National Trust properties in the area worth visiting. Wildlife Safaris over Exmoor, trips to Lundy Island or the beautiful North Devon blue flag beaches as well as several theme parks for the younger generation. . The list goes on and on!!

Directions

From the M5, exit at junction 27 onto the A361 to Tiverton. Take the A396 north towards Bampton until joining the B3222 to Dulverton. Go up through the centre of Dulverton and the road goes left handed (signed Lynton and Exford). Take this road along beside the river for approximately one mile and then take a left fork. Almost immediately turn right (signed Ashwick and Exford). Continue up the hill, around three sharp bends and then take the next left turn into a No Through Road (small fingerpost in the hedge Ashwick, Ashway, Springfield). Continue along this road for about a mile and we are the first farm on the left.From Winsford Village: take the road that goes around behind the pub and continue until you come to a four crossway. Turn left here, then second right over a cattle grid (Signed Ashwick). You should now have a wire fence on your left, continue along this road and take the second turning to the right (through black gates) which is our back drive. Continue to the bottom of the drive and the road splits, take the left fork and the entrance to the farm is 50 yards on the right.
